WordPress Permissions Problem

  • Hello,

Just activated my dedicated virtual server with Mediatemple, disappointingly they didn’t have the latest version of wordpress so I had to manually upgrade (stressful)!

Now I’m faced with all types of problems when uploading a new image, the visual editor doesn’t display (only html), cannot edit plugins and edit style.css – basically nothing is writeable.

So basically my question is, what permissions should I set and for which file locations to make this work?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

Assign 755 permissions to each folders and files of your blog which should resolve the query. You can contact your web hosting service provider to grant the recursive permissions to your blog folders.
