# WordPress permalink headache

 * Hello there
 * I have been tearing my hair out for ages over a permalink structure problem which
   I cannot seem to get the right settings for. I was wondering if someone could
   help and outline the settings I need achieve the following consistent structure:
 * Home page: `/about/blog`
 * Home page (paged): `/about/blog/page/2`
 * Post: `/about/blog/category-title/post-title`
 * Category: `/about/blog/category/category-title`
 * Tag: `/about/blog/tag/tag-title`
 * Archive: `/about/blog/year/month`
 * If anyone can help then if you would be so kind as to outline the settings I 
   need for: `wordpress URL, blog URL, permalink structure, tag base, category base,.
   htaccess` then that would be great
 * So far the closest I have got is by using `/about/blog` in the permalinks which
   gets what I’m after but causes `about/blog/page/2` to break.
 * I have also used other settings to get everything as I would like apart from 
   the archives which are still located in the root i.e. `/2009/06` not `/about/
   blog/2009/06`
 * Is what I’m aiming for even possible?

   which explains why.
 * Think I’ll have to go with the archives not consistent with the other permalinks
   as opposed to starting every post permalink with a number.
 * Here [http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Structure_Tags](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Structure_Tags)
   it also says you should not start your permalinks with category, post name or
   tag.
