 * Look at the waterfall .
 * It appears that your server is taking 3.5 seconds to respond. Something to discuss
   with your hosts, perhaps.
 * Also, your images are pretty large (3.5 MB), and are taking a long time to render.
   The [feedback](http://www.webpagetest.org/result/160316_DK_Z2Y/1/performance_optimization/#compress_images)
suggests you could compress these and save 2.5 MB. Consider using a compression
   tool such as [Caesium](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-optimization/caesium.sourceforge.net/?output_format=md)
and/or use a Content Delivery Network.

 * What do you mean by “Look at the waterfall”

 * Barnez is referring to the waterfall tab when you test your site with gtmetrix.
   com.
 * The other thing you might want to consider is formatting the images to be smaller
in the first place. I mean, 3mb is pretty big for an image. And the more you
have the more resources it requires.
 * Finally, in terms of your server being slow to respond, I work for a hosting
company, so I can tell you that if you are on shared hosting, your host can’t
really do much beyond checking the server health. Consider CloudFlare so you
are less reliant on your hosts server.
 * If you are on VPS or dedicated, ask your host to install memcache or other server-
side caching, if this is not already in place. Of course, if you are on unmanaged
server, you will have to do this yourself.

 * Try one of these: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=compress+images](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=compress+images)
