I am planning on setting up a copy of wordpress as a collaboration site for employees and certain customers, almost like an intranet, but slightly more accessible.

For security purposes I want it setup on an SSL secured connection. I have an SSL certificate from GoDaddy on a subdomain of my site and I have installed my collaboration portal at but I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error but when I log into cPanel and view the error log, I see no error recorded.

    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Well I managed to get it to work without doing anything, I’ll keep you posted if the issue returns.

  • Well maybe its not fixed. I am finding I do still get a 500 error when I goto view a post. Nothing can be found in my cPanel Error Log though.

UPDATE: It also does it for pages as well. Up til now I haven’t looked at any pages or posts, most of my work was in the back end. I am thinking all of that worked because I was accessing a physical file, and so their might be an issue with the virtual file or whatever it’s called that takes a permalink and loads the page. Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about and would know how to resolve the problem.

UPDATE2: Ok so I decided to checkout my .htaccess file and the base URL never got changed there when I renamed the directory, so I am good. It works after updating that.
