WordPress on multiple subdomains, not root

  • I want to run wordpress on multiple subdomains, preferably from the one installation to save disk space. The theme for the subdomains would be the same – they would all be separate blogs. Ideally, each subdomain would have its own login, or have only the Super Admin and a particular writer/editor able to access it.

I do not want wordpress on the root, though.

Is there a way I could do this?

    Thanks!

eg. example.com (no wordpress, access by me)
carla.example.com (wordpress, access by me and Carla)
bog.example.com (wordpress, access by me and Bog)
