  • Howdy everyone, last week, I saw a lot of people saying that they didn’t like subversion so, I created a repository with the WordPress files in it. Please go to [link moderated] to fork it and contribute to it. Also please follow me at [link moderated] Fork it, tweak it, fix whatever bugs you notice. Thanks!

You can find an up-to-the-15-minute updated version of WordPress trunk on Github, kept up to date by WordPress Developers here:

It includes all tags/branches, and is read only, no pull requests are accepted there (Since we use trac to centralise all contributions)

Yeah well my version is better is because it’s not using trac!

    Trac is kind of stupid.

Trac is also the fastest way to get the git resource updated, safely and reliably.

Just as we cannot advocate downloading themes and plugins from sources outside, we cannot advocate downloading WordPress itself from a non-WP maintained resource. The link Dion provided is the official resource for git.
