WordPress Not Working Properly

    About five days ago my wordpress blog stopped working properly.I have not yet been able to fix the problems.

    I deactivated all plugins and refreshed the blog and the same problems still occurred. I also changed themes several times and the same issues no difference.

    Problems I am Having

    1. Content runs together
    2. Category creator not working as some of the other tools in the toolbar
    3. Widgets that come with the GDI blog theme are not showing in the right widget bar or box
    4. The GDI theme background is not showing.
    5. When I click links in Appearance, I sometimes just get blank pages
    6. Some times I get 504 error messages
    7. Again, these issues continue no matter which theme I use

    I have not been able to use my blog nor update it with stuff for almost a week now. Can some one please help me with a diagnosis and fix for these issues, it will be greatly appreciated.

    The fact that it continue no matter what theme you use and the 504 error message suggest it’s a problem with your DNS settings http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/504error.htm

    You might want to talk to the support team of your host to make sure your DNS settings are set up properly.

    Hi Clouder,

    Thank you for your quick response.

    I did contact GDI who hosts the theme and they said that they found the theme was incompatible with the WordPress platform, which makes no sense to me when they have thousands of members using this theme with WordPress and having no problems and mine was working ok up until 6 days ago.

    I will contact GDI and ask to have the DNS settings rechecked as you mentioned…If they come back and say the settings are correct, I do not know what else to do.

    I am desperate to get my blog working right again, is there anyone that can help me do this?

    I have gone back to GDI support and had them recheck the DNS Settings as Mr Clouder had suggested and GDI says those settings are correct.

    In my very first post I explained most of what is happening and a week has passed and my blog is still not functioning properly, again can some one anyone help me find a fix to my issues?

    – This their theme. They have the access to its code.
    If they say it incompatible with the WP, then probably they know what they are talking about.

    – Check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

    Hi Tara,

    I am looking for someone one to help me find a solution to my WordPress problems, Not Comments. So you should not have wasted your time with your post.

    Now if you can provide me answers or point me to someone that can help me then I am willing to listen and read your posts.
