• About five years ago I set up a wordpress site and everything worked as it should. Apparently for the past couple of years sending forms does not work. Enfold theme is used and the form is incorporated with Enfold. They just gave up having forms on their site. Lately it has been notices that when registering new users, no confirmation mail is sent. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

  • There is a possibility that your host changed to not allow PHP email, maybe a while ago. Many hosts decide not to allow direct sending of email via PHP for security and anti spam reasons.

First stop, I recommend you ask your host.

Then if that is the case or you cant resolve it, install one of the popular SMTP mail plugins or a transactional email plugins/services such as MailGun or Sendgrid.

I tried a SMTP plugin and it seems to work. What puzzles me is that I have about 15 other sites with the same host and they send emails just fine. Both from forms and when registering new users.

Just have to be happy with this solution I guess.

    Thanks:)

If that is the case, then probably a plugin that is different to the other 15 is creating the issue. But as you say, you have bypassed the issue so any further investigation doesn’t add any real value to you.

That is true. I will leave it as it is now. Just to say, I tried deactivating all the plugins on the site, still no email. As long as the SMTP plugin does the job I will just leave it.:)
