I was able to install WordPress (WP) on my server which is located on my private LAN (192.168…..). I can access WP without any issue if I am on my 192.168…. network and use the 192.168… IP address of the WP server.

Before I continue with the issue, let me give a quick overview of my network. My ISP provides me with a static IP address which I do a one-to-one static map to my WP server. You can access an example static page here
http://www.pasewaldt.com/cme/cme_index.html. Now when you try to access my main http://www.pasewaldt.com you will notice that it takes a long time to come up and the theme
layout is not displayed. Looking at the general setting of WP I noticed that my wordpress and blog url is set for http://192.168…./blog. Is that correct?

The issue is people outside in the public side cannot properly display my WP site.

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Excuse my mistake. The first web should be http://www.pasewaldt.com/cme/cme_index.htm

After some trial and error I change my RFC1918 address, that WP added automagically, to my domain http://www.pasewaldt.com and that allowed outside access. However, I needed to map my RFC1918 address to my domain in my PC host file and that allowed me to access it from my internal access. Looks like I will need to set up a DNS on the WP server and have pasewaldt as zone file so I do not need to change the hosts file on every PC. However, I will need to have the DHCP server issue the WP server as the first DNS sever to resolve pasewaldt.com internal to my network.

I guess you can say this post is resolved.
