WordPress not accepting comments

    I switched to WordPress version 4.5.2 last week and since then, even though I have site comments enabled, I have not received any so I imagine they are being blocked somehow. How do I enable them again?

    I have all the boxes checked on the Discussion page that allow comments, but I have not received any since the switch.

    the boxes in the discussion page might not be enough to check; this generally only applies to posts and pages created after the change of those settings.

    there are more possible settings, for example:
    please check in the ‘posts’ – ‘all posts’ list by clicking on the ‘quick edit’ below each single post title and check for ‘allow comments’.
    the same for pages…

    Yes, tried that for several posts and “allow comments” is checked.

    I usually get about 10-20 comments per day but since I switched, nothing.
