[Resolved] WordPress multisite and domain mapping

  • I run a website which offers campaign websites and site hosting to people seeking election. There are obviously security issues 2FA would help to ameliorate.

How would I set this up on a multisite network, assuming its compatible, say using plugins-mu folder, so that it cannot be seen by non admins and create at least a low hurdle to it being easily disabled?

Also, how would it work in this kind of network configuration where some subdomains of the primary site are domain mapped, and some aren’t?

I am thinking here of the issue where, I assume, each mapped domain would be allocated 10 free users, but if the primary domain has to pay for users on each of the subdomains too, that 10 user limit will be passed very quickly and make it too expensive to install for the host.

    Terence,

I’m not sure how one would go about enabling a plugin without listing it on the plugins page. Even if there is a way, all subsites on a multi-site WordPress configuration would need to be under the same Duo account/”primary domain.”

It sounds like Duo simply isn’t going to be an option for your use case. That said, I advise contacting our solutions engineers directly at help@duosecurity.com to see if they can find a suitable solution.

    Thanks!
