• Good day,

I run a networked WP multi-site for a client – with the clients live site and a sandbox site for development.

I am keen to update Woo Commerce plug in from version 2.1.12 to 2.2.4 – but a little nervous about it.

I can see the network activated WooCommerce plug in in my Network Admin > Plugins list – where it is flagged as requiring the update to 2.2.4 (currently version 2.1.12).

When I go to my sandbox site – the WooCommerce plug in itself is not listed in the plug in list. I was hoping it did so I could only update it’s version of Woo Commerce

So my question is – when running multi site – if I network update WooCommerce – will this apply it to all sites in my network?

Is there a way to try it out on my sandbox site (which is at the moment and exact mirror of my live site) first without disturbing the live site?

    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Hey Andrew,

If you network update WooCommerce it will indeed apply to all sites on your network.

Is your sandbox site part of the network or is it a completely separate installation? In either case you would first need to determine why WooCommerce isn’t listed on your plugins page on the sandbox site and g from there.

    Thanks Will.

Yes part of the same network. Have been reading up since my post and found that I may be using multi site in appropriately.

I’m coming to the realisation that I should have my dev in a different location entirely and use tools like MainWP http://mainwp.com/ and duplicator to overwrite the live site when ready.

    Thanks for reply.
