Installed this plug-in but it say’s “WP Mobile is incorrectly installed. Please check the README.”

I followed the instructions to the tee. Was wondering if maybe I should have uploaded the contents of “wp-mobile directory in your wp-content/themes directory” instead of the whole folder? This of course would overwrite the files already in the theme directory. Correct?

I’ve had this problem too but there’s no information on how to troubleshoot. Anyone had success after seeing this error?

I should also mention that I’m using 2.7.1 on DreamHost and I tried to install the 3.0 release. Maybe it has to do with folder permissions?

I’ve only seen this happen when the theme is not placed correctly in the themes directory (as instructed in the README).

    Me too 🙁

i get the same error and i have the theme in both a carrington-mobile folder and a wp-mobile folder like the one that comes zipped in the download.

“WP Mobile is incorrectly installed. Please check the README.”

The problem for me was that this plugin zip file actually had a file that goes in the plugins folder ( “wp-mobile.php” ) AND a theme folder ( “carrington-mobile-1.0.2” ). Unzipping the file created a ( “wordpress-mobile-edition” ) folder with the theme folder beneath it, and the “wp-mobile.php” file in it.

To add to the confusion, I had already installed a “carrington-mobile” theme previously, so wasn’t thinking that I had to do anything but place the original unzipped folder in the plugins folder.

*Now that I think about it, I used the Plugins Installer and apparently it did not put the files in the correct locations.

    Yes. as bgibson135 said.

which automatic installed… got wrong direction folder, it’s theme folder “carrington-mobile-1.0.2” in the plugins folder “wp-content/plugins/wordpress-mobile-edition/”,

just move the folder “carrington-mobile-1.0.2” to “wp-content/themes/”

and make sure the “wp-mobile.php” in the plugins folder “wp-content/plugins/wordpress-mobile-edition/” which you can creat one if not exsited.
