• Hi,
I have been having some issues with a WordPress build that I have taken over and installed on our server for a client.
I am trying to sort out an issue with a plugin (specifically Portfolio Slideshow plugin) where the panel for the slideshow is not showing in the admin for certain pages.

The pages that the panel is not showing for are the pages that are in the main admin bar. I am even unsure as to how these pages are in the main admin bar and not under the ‘pages’ section. How is this achieved?

Here are two images to show the differences between how the admin page is supposed to be working and how it looks at the moment. As you can see, even the icons next to the menu pages are missing.

    Site working incorrectly:

    Site working correctly:

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how and why this may be happening? Are those pages in the left menu actually pages or am I confused here?
    Thanks

Have you double checked the same plugins are activated on the new site as the old site?

    Hi,
Yes I have and can confirm the same plugins are installed.
    Thanks

OK. Have you checked Screen Options at the top of the Edit Page screen to see if Portfolio Slideshow is checked?

I have gone to do that but I cannot see that plugin listed under ‘Screen Options’ anywhere?

OK. Have you explored in depth in the plugin’s options? (To see if there are any “show on” options or similar.)

I have explored the settings for the plugin under the settings section and there is no obvious settings for this plugin in there.. in fact, it is only front-end settings and none relating to the admin.

OK. Well since you’re missing the page icons too, it’s looking increasingly likely that things got a bit wonky during the transfer/migration of the site. That’s going to be difficult to help with. I’d start by comparing the file structures in wp-content on the old and the new. Are you using the same (child) theme?
