[Resolved] WordPress messed up. Please help?

  • I’m currently having issues with my WordPress blog located at x-entertainment.com/updates.

    1) Comments will not post. When you try to make one, the screen simply goes white — like a time-out.

    2) I also notice in the admin, that changes are not registered. When I delete a comment that’s being held for moderation, it seems to delete, but when I return to the dashboard, it’s there again.

My WordPress appears to be “locked” and not allowing any changes. Suggestions?

  • Did you upgrade to WordPress 2.7 or install a Plugin, make a change in your Theme, or do anything to cause these things to happen?

Without knowing what you did first, it’s hard to respond with answers.

Check your error_log if you have one.

Here are some of the possible causes:

    • A bad plugin. Temporarily disable all plugins and see if the problems go away.
    • Theme problems. Switch to the default WordPress theme and see if the problems go away.
    • Missing/corrupted files. Reuploading and upgrading or reupgrading WordPress may help.
    • Database problems.
    • Damage caused by hacking.

Thank you for your suggestions. As it turns out, it was due to an excess of bandwidth being eaten up on media files stored on my server. When there’s a traffic overload, MySQL always takes the hit first. After I removed or renamed key folders that were being hit, everything went back to normal.
