WordPress keeps changing my Homepage

Hello,

WordPress keeps changing my custom static homepage (static front page) to the default blog front page format. This is happening so much so that its happening on a daily basis. I try to change it back, but the next day it changes to the blog front page. Does anyone of any ideas on this issue. Let me know if you need more information.

You should define what is the main page and SAVE.
What shoud be the front page ?
Now I see “Sample Text Living in Minnesota…”

Correct, I have defined the page I want as the “front page.” However, WordPress always comes back to this Blog default page that you are seeing now. That “Sample Text page.”

Check your Dashbaords -> appearance ->customize -> static front page ->
A static page or Your latest posts ?

Yes, all good in that department. The issue is still unresolved. Very Odd.

And on that place, under “front page” – your main page is defined…?

As HV asked – What theme are you using?
Try changing theme and see if it is a them problem

I just started having the same issue after upgrading. I’m using a custom theme based on the standard. Something changed in the latest upgrade to cause this. Does anyone have any ideas?

I’m pretty sure I found the issue. My theme had the front-page.php file and that gets used no matter if a static page is set or not.

I deleted the front-page.php from my theme so I will report back if I continue to have issues.

Hi I have similar problems with a multisite. After a day or two it changes the static front-page to the blog page. I even programatically loaded a specific post_ID in front-page.php but wordpress decides to not load that but load index.php instead.

Did you find an solution for this?
