Support » Plugin: Gutenberg » WordPress is For Writer, NOT Designer

My sentiment towards this new Gutenberg is aligned with everybody else…it’s too darn complicated, bloated, and confusing and is a productivity and time-efficiency killer.

What used to take only five minutes, now takes three times as long when it comes to adding a post.

We don’t care about all the fanciness and sleekness. All we care about is simplicity. We’re only using WordPress to post and write, not to design something. Save the fanciness for Photoshop or some Apple-obsessed fanatic. All this fancy design elements simply DISTRACT and DETER us from writing in a smooth flow.

Bluntly put, Gutenberg needs to die (like Windows 8).

Hi @synergeticcorp! Thanks so much for your feedback. I recommend that you install the Classic Editor plugin for now but check back in a year or two as the team is constantly hard at work making improvements to the Gutenberg editor.

Windows 8? More like Windows ME! I hope WP bounces back with a better version like Windows XP did.

As a webmaster since the late 80’s (yeah, I used to have my own BBS) I can’t agree with you more. Gutenberg needs to go now, not in a year or two. I’m a full-time freelance webmaster that has used WP for over 15 years and this is the worst I’ve seen. My clients & I work with WP today, not in the future. Heck, with as fast as things change online, WP might not even be around in 2021. Who knows!?! I wish it was still the “good ole days” when I could just code a site in notepad, but now all my clients want WP because that’s what they’ve heard of. ugh…

Get rid of Gutenberg using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-gutenberg/
