  • I have a table with images in each cell, and when I save the post with the visual editor tab selected it adds <p> </p> every time I save. Does anyone know why this is and how to prevent it?

    Thanks!

That’s just WordPress default behaviour – it adds automatic line breaks and paragraph breaks. If you want to remove that feature, follow these instructions. It’ll apply sitewide, however. You can also try flipping to code view and removing any line/paragraph breaks there, but if you flip back to visual editor view, it may add them back, and you’ll drive yourself batty.

Thanks for the reply though I think you’ve misunderstood what I’m trying to accomplish. According to the documentation on that link that converts the line breaks into paragraph tags when someone uses the_excerpt or the_content functions. What I’m trying to do is prevent the visual editor from inserting paragraph tags inside of table sells every time the user selects the “Update” button even though the user hasn’t hit return/enter.
