WordPress Interface Slows Down When AddThis Activated

  • Every time I activate the addthis plugin my wordpress admin area slows way down.
Specs: WordPress 3.4, Hosted on Dedicated Godaddy servers with wordpress install on root of domain.

Example: With Addthis not activated in plugins area I can click on posts, then click on a post to edit and both times page load time is like 1-2 seconds… Then when I activate addthis those same clicks now take 5-10 seconds for the pages to load within the admin area…

    Any ideas????

  • This is good feedback–we’ll definitely look into our operations there. Do you have your AddThis username and password stored, for incorporating analytics in the admin console? If so, does removing them from the settings pane (while keeping the plugin active) eliminate the delay?

    Best,
    Matt

(If not, I’d also try unchecking the “Show analytics in admin dashboard” setting in the Advanced tab.)
