• I have developed a CRM solution in Joomla previously and my company is now upgrading to WordPress for their content site. I need to figure out how do i maintain the CRM app but have the Word press as primary CMS and site.

    1. Do i edit the session core files in order to switch between the 2? if so has somebody done this before?
    2. DO i start playing in the MX/TX of the DNS and manage the integration from there?
    3. From a installation perspective, must WordPress be the primary and Joomla becomes the sub directory?

i would really appreciate any help or shared code as im under the pump for delivery?

    thank you

  • I’d probably put Joomla in its own directory since you only use that for the CRM.

I’d also put WordPress in a separate directory then follow these directions to run WordPress from the web root directory. https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

This should give you a very orderly install as long as the Joomla with your CRM will run from its directory. That part I don’t know. The other option would be to run Joomla as root of a sub-domain elsewhere.

There are some ‘bridges’ to connect Joomla and WordPress but they all seem right old and probably not well supported and… I imagine would have issues with your APP.

There’s several WordPress based CRMs… possibly there’s a way to use one of those by integrating with your present Joomla CRM or even just move all the CRM data within the databases.
