I just installed wordpress for my website. The admin is up & running perfectly, but my theme does not show on my public URL. Now all a visitor can see is the justhost ‘website registered by’ splash page at http://www.maaspublications.net/

My homepage was previously “index.html”, which I deleted. Help?

    Thanks!

  • Try following the instruction from your provider to get started.

Have you installed wordpress in the root?

    Check your DNS settings.

Good point – I did just verify that the installation is not only in my site’s public.html folder, but the root as well. I am live chatting with their support…

lame. all justhost would confirm is that my installation *looks* right. but since I didn’t use their Simple Scripts service (pay them to install it), they can’t give me any answers.

How long ago did you register the domain?

Is there an index.php in the root? Open it, see if it is this http://www.maaspublications.net/ page. If so, delete.

*headsmack* there is. I took a break from this and just realized it’s probably full of justhost.com crap. Yep. It is. Reinstalling index.php from the wordpress install files.

oh, sorry, esmi, didn’t see your comment at first. domain’s been registered for 3+ years. I’m just really code-rusty from having triplets 18 months ago. eek!

I’m surprised you even have the time to post here! 😉 Glad to hear that you’ve got it sorted anyhow.

thanks, everyone! My last guess was the right one: Ijust needed to overwrite the index.php file from just.host (which had all their own crap code) with the one from wordpress.
