Hi. I’m trying to install wordpress and host it on my own website. I use Plesk. According to the instruction for Plesk, I need to create a new database for wordpress. But Plesk says I’m only allowed one database. Please help!

    covers the install.
One database is fine – you can fit lots into one db.
For instance, you could have 10 blogs, 3 galleries, a couple of stats programs and more. You are limited by the size of the db on some hosts, but having one db is no limitation 🙂

Podz – you are awesome! I’m already using the one database that I’m allowed to have. Where should I install wordpress then?

My one database is being used for something else. Can I install wordpress into it too? If so, where? Thanks!

    Anywhere 🙂
In the wp-config.php file is a line that WP adds before it’s tables. This table_prefix keeps the wp data away from anything else. So just install 🙂
