I have two WordPress installition in the same hosting (one inside another), let’s say:

    Home WP: http://www.123.com
    Child WP: http://www.123.com/xxx

Both was going smoothly until I had got an issue in the hosting and my website got down, then, when the hosting issues have been resolved and my website had back to work, when I try to access the child WP, I got an 404 error message from the home WP!.

In other word the WordPress inside the WordPress has been unreachable!.

    Any advice on that?

    Thanks

  • Error 404’s are typically caused by hosting permission issues.

I would contact my host and ask them.

Have you tried http://www.123.com/xxx/wp-admin/ and then checking the perma-links? (set them as default to test).

If that fails, Josh has probably got the right solution, who’s your hosting provider?

The issue have been resolved 🙂 the sub-folder (aka. child WP folder) (/xxx) permissions was “777”, while it should be “755”. The server (for security reasons) was refusing any connection to this folder.

    Thank you all for advice.

    Good to know.

    Thanks for posting your solution!
