# WordPress in subfolder

 * I am redesigning a WordPress site. I have found that wordpress is installed in
   a subfolder, so it’s [http://www.mydomain.com/wp/wp-admin](http://www.mydomain.com/wp/wp-admin)
   to log in, but to access the site it’s just [http://www.mydomain.com](http://www.mydomain.com).
 * Is there any reason how and why this would have been done, and is it a good idea
   to keep it this way?

 * There is no reason for that if you don’t need it for some specific purpose, what
   actually looks you don’t 😉

 * A lot of host installers have the sub-folder set as ‘wp’ as a default instead
   of leaving it blank ….. so this happens to people quite often 😉
