WordPress ignoring <br> and <p> tags…

  • I am working in the HTML format of one of my pages and I am noticing that it completely ignores <br /> and <p> tags. You can see an example at http://www.ckcomedy.com/website/?page_id=2 where it says “who the hell is chris killian?” the C is touching the photo. Also on the media page I cant make the embedded youtube video lower than the photos.

    While I am here, is there a way on the about page to adjust the padding of the table I have the photo in? I have it currently only on the right and bottom, but the bottom has too much padding.

    I assume you managed to sort your line-height problem out using CSS?

    Don’t use a table. It’s bad practice to use tables for layout and, for a single photo, it’s complete overkill. Use WP to insert the photo aligned left and, if necessary, tweak your CSS to adjust the photo’s bottom and right margins.

    I get around WordPress dumping p and br tags by adding …

    style=”margin-bottom: 20px”

    to your paragraph tags. Changing the number for how much space you want after each paragraph. You can add margin space in other directions as well, you can even add this to your CSS so it does it by default

    thus: p style=”margin-bottom: 20px”

    And I’ve tried to use div with references back to CSS for some table information, but WordPress gets rid to div codes when inserted into the editable Page section. Thus I’m forced to use tables from time to time.
