WordPress Gutenberg’s Editor Unresponsive, Sluggish

    This has been happening for a while. The WordPress Gutenberg editors will become unresponsive and sometimes, it will take several seconds for the words I typed to display on the editor.

    I might have typed a whole sentence, yet it will take about 10 to 15 seconds for the sentence to appear in the editor. This slows down work progress and has a negative impact on productivity.

    What could be the cause of this?

    I have come across this issue too. In my case, I use Grammarly, which seems to slow things down when I begin word processing on sites, not just in a Gutenberg editor. When I have the issue, I disable Grammarly, making the problem disappear. Do you have any browser plugins enabled? Does the issue occur in different browsers for you? Have you tried in incognito mode at all?

    Yes, I have Grammarly installed on all my browsers. I will deactivate it on one of the browsers first and see what happens next.

    Hi @malcntnt

    I have disabled Grammarly on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, yet the problem reproduces.

    The editor becomes unresponsive, freezes, and sometimes the mouse blinks severally.

    I’m thinking of this might be a plugin issue but need direction on what plugin should I consider deactivating first.

    Hello @adeone,

    I have seen some information about the slow Gutenberg editor, but I haven’t found a definitive guide on the root cause or how to fix it. I found an article that may be of some use here, but beyond that, I am not sure of a fix. In my case, I just had to remove a browser plugin.
