# WordPress generating incorrect post links

 * I seem to be having trouble with the latest update to WordPress – or at least
   just for the last couple of days. I’ve noticed when I add a new post, WordPress
   is not generating the link correctly, or at least that’s my guess as to what’s
   happening.
 * For example, when I add a new post, the link that Jetpack Publicize’s to my Facebook
   and Twitter, as well as the same link that’s emailed out to my subscribers is
   not correct – it takes them to a 404 page.
 * I’ve also noticed it doesn’t have to be published. If I add a new post, save 
   it as a draft and then click “Preview”, even the link to the preview doesn’t 
   work properly.
 * Each time this happens the only solution I’ve found thus far is to copy the information
   and add an entirely new post, then paste the content to “reset” the link so to
   speak.
 * I’m not sure that it will help, since the issue is mostly backend/dashboard related,

 * Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel.
   If WordPress cannot automatically edit the `.htaccess` file, it will provide 
   manual instructions after saving.

 * I was thinking about doing that, but I didn’t want to blow anything up. lol I’ll
   give that a go when I get home and get back to you. Thanks for the help! 🙂
