    Hello

Has anybody ever used WordPress as a site for storing documents?

If so what are the recommended plugins and themes to enable me to achieve this? or would I be better off using Sharepoint or Confluence?

I was hoping that it could be done in WordPress and thus proving that both WordPress and PHP are just as powerful as .NET

guess it depends on what you mean by storing documents.

    What's your end goal?

Like.....you want the files displayed for people? Downloadable? User uploads?

If the intention is to use the media library for files not currently supported, there are methods to extending the whitelist that determines which types of files you can add.

One such plugin that helps add additional mime types.

You'd then upload and utilise uploads for the new file types in the same way you would with other media, like images and videos.

What plugins will be required to store documents (word, pdf, excel files) etc so users can download.

Basically we want to create a knowledge library - with documents stored in relevant folders, is this possible with WordPress or would I be better off with Sharepoint or Confluence?
