I am going to develop a live streaming website with the help of Ustream. The site is expected high traffic like 1 – 5 Lacks concurrent viewers. What are the points that I need to take care for the uninterrupted run of the website.
Some forums are saying WP is not suitable for this kind of high traffic sites.
Expecting valuable inputs from the experts.

    Thanks in advance.

i don’t think so, because in today’s era more than 70% cms websites are in wordpress … while rest are very less. secondly wordpress is good in all ways, you have to take care of your bandwidth, server etc, such things in mind while starting such site. Because usually servers gets down once we reach some more audience than usuall … i hope you should go for wordpress and take proper care of your server i am hosting selection ….

other good things are your design and unique content which will be more useful when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). While selecting a domain name is also crucial make sure your domain is never banned earlier by search engines.

    Hi David,

It is a news discussion website, daily 4 hour live telecast and remaining time will show the VOD section. So I am planning for Amazone instances with load balancing. Client is not confident about WP, he saying it is vulnerable. But we think WP is the best option

    Joseph,

I agree. WordPress is a good long term option. However, he is your client and so I guess if he insists on an alterntative platform you haveto run with it.

It would be ideal if you could find some existing WP sites doing something similar – if you haven’t found them already.

    Hi David,

Client gave me the freedom to select platform, if I can assure him the security.

    Regards

    Joseph
