Support » Localhost Installs » WordPress File to Restrict with Apache httpd.conf

  • Hi All,

    I want to add an extra layer of security to the site and by doing some I want to setup access control via the httpd.conf file as its deeper down the system and less likely to manipulate. This is what I want to go for:

    <Directory />
    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny from all
    Options None
    AllowOverride None
    <Directory /var/www/html>
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    Allow from
    #allowed for click through URLS
    <Files index.php>
    Order deny,allow

    #used for back end
    #<LocationMatch “services/|csv/|includes/Scrapers/”>
    As You can see I will restrct everything under an IP adress and the rest will be restricted from the outside world.

    Is there a master list of files / folders that need to excluded from restrictions?

  • I am also looking to restrict and unrestrict via Httpd.conf is there a document that best explains the way to restrict browse acces and to allow browse access.
