  • Did you define the correct email under the Options menu => General ?

    Yeah I made sure all emails are correct and proper, I get all other email like if a user resets a password I get a notification but I also want it to notify me when someone registers

    Normally you are supposed to receive an email on user registration.

    I have seen emails not being sent before by WordPress without errors. This was always due to misconfigurations like not writing an email adress correctly but adding a second address, or adding a name etc.

    You could first of all try to modify wp-config.php and enable debugging
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    Then try registering.
    Is there an error ?

    If not and the new user mail does not arrive in your spam folder and you have tried deactivating plugins (which may have overridden the default behaviour) you could try overriding the function yourself in order to try to debug directly, see http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/15304/how-to-change-the-default-registration-email-plugin-and-or-non-plugin
