  • I love WordPress and think it’s a great CMS tool that is easy to use. But for god sake could you PLEASE stop making the default themes so complex???!!!
I’m trying to get to modify a child theme for Twenty Twelve but it takes forever to find what code is doing what. Some times it’s very logic with just <?php the_content(); ?> but other times it’s insane because you’ve stored so much things in functions. That’s not a good thing to do. You shouldn’t have to be a programming expert to figure basic thing out like where the meta for a post is. It shouldn’t be in some crazy function but right there before/after the content and easy to spot. It should just say author, post date, tagged, category so people easy can customize it.
