 * On installation I’m getting the following error… anyone have any suggestions?

 * I saw one suggestion for fixing this problem — move to a unix/linux type server.

 * I’m a brand new user using wordpress for the first time. Besides moving to a 
   unix/linux type server, which is not an option, does anyone have another solution
   to this problem.
