# wordpress database error message

 * OK, I did all the steps up till the actual installation. When I put in [http://mysite.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://mysite.com/wp-admin/install.php),
   it let me fill in my password, email, etc., but then the next page is a long 
   list of wordpress database error messages like this:
 * WordPress database error: [Access denied for user ‘tfamili_lyralen’@’%’ to database‘
   tfamili_casteluzzo’]
    CREATE TABLE wp_terms ( term_id bigint(20) unsigned NOT
   NULL auto_increment, name varchar(200) NOT NULL default ”, slug varchar(200) 
   NOT NULL default ”, term_group bigint(10) NOT NULL default 0, PRIMARY KEY (term_id),
   UNIQUE KEY slug (slug), KEY name (name) ) DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8

 * So … does the user tfamili_lyralen have access to the database tfamili_casteluzzo?
   If you don’t know how to check, ask your host to check for you.

 * yes, I just created both the database and the user specifically for this project.

 * OK, I just chatted with my host, and told her the problem. She said I had the
   wrong user permissions set. She fixed it for me. Hope it works out for you too,
   kshaw.

 * Good example of someone new not taking a simple step. I had to do the same thing
   only I didn’t have to call my hosting company. Always learning….

 * That’s how we learn 🙂 This is part of why I advocate paying a bit more for a
   GOOD host. When you don’t know, it’s nice to have someone you paid be there to
   help 😉

 * I edited my database settings. Basically I went in and checked bunches to allow
   everything. Look at your database and make sure everything looks correct.
