# WordPress database error – error in SQL syntax;

 * I am using the geoplaces theme by templatic. I am not able to add items to the
   mega menu. Error log shows :
    WordPress database error You have an error in your
   SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for
   the right syntax to use near ” at line 1 for query SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE
   id = made by do_action_ref_array, call_user_func_array, check_and_publish_future_post,
   wp_publish_post, wp_transition_post_status, do_action, call_user_func_array, 
   apt_check_required_transition, apt_publish_post

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
