# WordPress database error

 * Ok, still having problems.
 * I upgraded to 2.7 and after an initial problem everything was working perfectly.
 * However, now the Dashboard is screwed up. The middle column where the recent 
   comments, incoming links, etc. used to be is totally blank.
 * On the right, under “Other WordPress News”, the following errors appear:
 *     ```
       WordPress database error: [Lost connection to MySQL server during query]
       SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'rss_867bd5c64f85878d03a060509cd2f92c' LIMIT 1
   
       WordPress database error: [MySQL server has gone away]
       SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'disable_fsockopen' LIMIT 1
       ```
   
 * The only thing I did between when it was working perfectly and now was upload
   a plugin to the plugins directory. I didn’t even activate that plugin!
 * What’s going on? I deactivated all plugins and I’m still having the problem.
