  • I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. A while ago I was trying to make a new post and when I published it I found that it didn’t save in the Dashboard and when I visited my site ( then an error would pop out above the header. Here it is:

    WordPress database error: [Can’t create/write to file ‘/tmp/#sql_7845_0.MYD’ (Errcode: 17)]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2005-11-16 02:05:59’ AND (post_status = “publish” OR post_author = 1 AND post_status != ‘draft’ AND post_status != ‘static’) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 10

    This has happened to me before also when I ran an automatic updating script. This time I was updating everything manually and I came across the same problem. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

  • Just try to put “errcode 17” in the search box. Or, better email first your host 🙂

    Thanks moshu for the suggestion. I’ve found that some people have had the same problem. So it’s not a WP problem it’s actually a host problem?

    Come to think of it, a few hours ago the servers of my host were down and everything on my site was acting funky. Maybe that had something to do with it?

    Thanks for the help though. I will contact my host ASAP. If you have any more suggestions I’d be glad to hear them.
