Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan » WordPress core file modified: wp-admin/includes/class-wp-posts-list-table.php

This morning, received an e-mail with critical issues found from WordFence (see below). Within the Scan, it states that “WordPress core file has been modified and differs from the original file distributed with this version of WordPress.”

I do wonder if it has to do with the site being on GoDaddy, because we have two other sites [with the same setup] hosting elsewhere, which did not generate this alert. Thank you in advance for looking into this.

Same issue here with one of my clients’ sites. Any help/insight appreciated.

    Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response — if you run another scan, or if these entries disappear from the list after the next scan, then everything is ok. This can happen if WordPress core is updated in the middle of a Wordfence scan, and it is more likely to happen on GoDaddy managed WP hosting plans because of the way they run wp-cron. We have a case open to see if we can work around this (reference number FB1718), to prevent notifications in a future version.
