Title: WordPress Connection Errors Last modified: September 1, 2016 --- # WordPress Connection Errors * Resolved [blausol](https://wordpress.org/support/users/blausol/) * (@blausol) * [9 years, 9 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wordpress-connection-errors/) * As of yesterday, I received a range of WordPress connection errors on my websites: * Akismet: “Your firewall may be blocking Akismet.” * Jetpack: “Outbound HTTPS not working” & “Jetpack could not contact WordPress. com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.” * Add Plugin “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress. org or this server’s configuration.” * Add Theme: “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress. org or this server’s configuration.” * I have two WordPress websites hosted on Godaddy, both encountered these connection problems. I’ve not recently changed anything on the website. I created a fresh WordPress install (no plugins) in order to debug the problem and encountered the same errors. * All 3 websites have WordPress 4.5.3 installed. I’ve talked with Godaddy about the issue but had no success. * Can anyone assist? * Thanks, * – K * p.s. possibly related to this problem is: webpages are slow to load on all 3 websites. I’m due to hear back from them how that went, I’ll update if I hear anything.
