• Are there any good MySQL alternatives that are free, open source and compatible with WordPress 3.0+? Honestly, in my opinion, Oracle has shown that it does not genuinely support open source ideas/community like they said they did when they bought out Sun. Their law suit against Google for Android just shows they lied, and they are just another greedy company.

I understand that this does not mean that they will start changing the licensing of MySQL, nor does it necessarily mean the future of MySQL is in jeopardy. I simply want absolutely nothing to do with anything Oracle.

I know about the PostgreSQL ports, but I was told there are open source forks of MySQL all ready out there which are backwards compatible with MySQL.

Never mind. I will just switch blogging platforms.

I think you need a time out. Now go sit in the corner, and think… really, really, think hard about the concept behind that which you wish to defend -vs- the shameful, self-serving irony of the words that you just chose to use. Now, go. Sit and think about what you’ve done.

By the way, I do respect your right to have and voice an opinion. No matter how misinformed or misplaced it may be.

    🙂
