 * I am wondering if the Classic Editor will continue to be supported? The new Gutenberg
   is too confusing for my community to use as the users are all non-savvy and prefer
   to just have a simple form to fill in for the headline, the main text for update
   and select the category. I tried the new editor and non of them were able to
   use it.
 * If the classic editor is to go away, I will have to switch to a different CMS…
   unfortunately.

   re installing the classic editor plug in, activating it etc… no luck, then installing
   Disable Guthenberg plug in So now I have the classic editor “theme” again but
   when ever I try to create a new posts and upload a photo, I get just a series
   of red dots in a line , and yes, I have the visual tab clicked and not text I
   have been at this for 5 hours now, trying to add another post to my blog so first

 * You’re not really giving us any information that can be used to help you.
 * What are the specific problems you are having? What do you mean by “a series
   of red dots”?
 * Why can’t you simply use the new editor? It’s not difficult. You just type into
   it to make a post. This isn’t that complicated.
 * And your grandmother was not a webpage designer. The old editor was very much
   broken, and the new editor is the fix for it.

 * Hi ,
 * when I use the new editor it kept telling me as soon as I added a photo ( and
   I was used to just putting 20-30 photos in at once and then adding my terxt in
   between the photos ) that there was an error in saving, I tried to publish as
   a test anyway, but did not publish.
    And by the look of it, it looks like it
   would make posting slower for me, could not see all my categories and tags that
   I have built up over 13 years on my blog The red dots instead of photos is like
 * …… .. ……. . …. ………………. … …… .. . .
    ………. … . ……….
 * but in red
 * , also, when I check under all posts and click on my last post, none of the pgotos
   that have been added show up in the editor page ( but they are still on the published
   post )

 * I’m wondering if it maybe has something to do with my theme/layout, as it was
   developed for me. So it is not one of those pre set theme’s
    If you have a look
   at my site ?

 * Just deactivated the classic editor and disable guthenberg plug ins, to give
   it another go and explore it
    But now it won’t even allow me to upload a photo,
   as soon as I try, it gives me an error message saying The response is not a valid
   JSON response and at the top another message saying updating failed ( so I checked
   in the dashboard in updates, and it says I’m all up to date and have latest word
   press installed )

 * Sounds like you’re having some problems with the REST API or something being
   blocked.
 * Try the Health Check plugin, see if it gives you any obvious errors. Also use
   the troubleshooting tool in it to disable your plugins and theme temporarily,
   and see if it works. With this, you can narrow down where the problem is coming
   from.

 * [@sonnyphotos](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sonnyphotos/) Okay. When you
   use the Health Check plugin, there is a “Debug information” tab. Click that.
 * At the top, there’s a “Show copy and paste field” button. Click that, and it
   will give a box of text which you can copy and paste directly into these forums.
   That’s the kind of info we need.
 * The info you posted says that your REST API isn’t working, and Loopback is also
   broken. This means that there’s something wrong with your site and so until we
   figure out why those don’t work, then yeah, nothing is going to work right.

 * If you’re getting timeouts, then something else is likely broken on your site.
 * Did you try disabling all the other plugins? One of them could be causing the
   problem. We’d need to know which one to give better advice.

   debug tab, but I then get the time out gateway error
    restarted the computer,
   and still timing out after health check and click on the the debug tab so next….?
   how do I get the info you need when it is not giving it to me ?
 * and again, I had no issues, until wordpress decided on my behalf that I needed
   to switch to guthenberg
