WordPress classic editor paste page auto scroll down

    Hi,

    I use WordPress classic editor. When I paste something on the visual editor, the instant page scroll down several paragraphs (more than 5). What could be the reason?

    Same issue here!!
    After paste texts via CMD+SHIFT+V, the page will scroll down. Need a fix.

    Me too.
    This problem occurs when the article is vertically long.
    The article is about 1 meter long.
    Fill it with text as you see fit.
    Copy and paste the appropriate site address around the top of the article.
    The screen will instantly scroll to the center of the article.
    Were you able to reproduce it?

    I also have this problem. I tested it with a completely fresh WordPress installation to rule out any side effects from other plugins.

    What I noticed is that the issue only occurs after you have added an image via the WordPress Media Manager. In the Gutenberg editor (Blog Editor), there is also a short jump after inserting external content, but here it jumps to the correct position.

    So I suspect it’s an issue related to the way WordPress distributes external content inserted via paste (ctrl + v) and that the Classic Editor has not yet been adapted for this.

    The problem is in the “screen option” = “Enable full-height editor and distraction-free functionality.”

    If you disable it after pasting the content don’t jump.

    Disabling this option is not the best solution, wordpress needs a fix.

    wordpress is more commercial every day and the base version that comes is useless, and it is something different from what we started to use, without expensive additions it makes no sense.

    The wordpress team does this on purpose so that we pay or go to other CMS

    This issues was reported on GitHub a while ago:

    I am not able to replicate this issue with the latest version of WordPress + TT3 theme + Classic Editor active. If you are still experiencing this issue can you please take a short video of your experience and add it to the GitHub issue?
