WordPress can't connect to outside resources

I just logged in today and noticed a message about my akismet not authorized when I started looking around more. its like nothing on my wordpress sites can connect to things remotely. So jetpack can’t get my stats, myblogguest can’t talk to the myblogguest.com to pull new request. Its happening to all my sites. I’m using hostgator for my web host. Anyone else having this issue? I’m guessing its some security setting hostgator enabled. I’ve been running wordpress with hostgator for a few years now.
