Support » Requests and Feedback » Bug (All Versions): embedded video code disappears…

  • …when making posts.

This is pretty simple and easy to re-produce.

When in the admin panel and creating a new post, if embedded video code is entered into a wordpress post after clicking the ‘HTML’ tab and the following code is entered into the body of the post:

    <iframe width="480" height="289" frameborder="0" src=",2,583"></iframe>

…clicking the ‘Visual’ tab to check the positioning of said embed code causes the code to disappear completely.

    Steps to re-create:

    1) Log into admin panel
    2) Click ‘Add New’ on the left hand column
    3) Click the ‘HTML’ tab.
    4) Enter the above HTML embed code into the post.
    5) Click the ‘Visual’ tab.

Even if the post is saved these steps above cause the embed code to disappear.

    Please fix this. Thanks!

  • Where is your blog hosted? If it is at or is on a system running WordPress MU it is stripping the embed code because those situations don’t allow you to embed JS or Flash code in posts, so you can’t do videos like this unless you use a shortcode or oEmbed. Please provide more information on your WP version and hosting environment if you want help with this problem.
