 * Hi,
 * I am new to WordPress and have a question about it. Is it necessary to learn
   HTML before we start learning WordPress? What are the best sources to learn WordPress
   and generally how much time does it take to learn? I can devote 1 to 2 hours
   in a day..

 * Hiya,
 * Not really. It depends what you want. People create themes that do most of the
   work for you and most people use WP without any HTML/CSS.
 * However if you can learn basic CSS I think it will help you on your way for the
   look of your site.
 * You will be surprised how many plugins there are for everything

 * danners2003 is right, it depends how much you want to tinker with it.
 * For example, there are many free WordPress themes available to you once you have
   WordPress installed. And you will probably find a few that you like. But what
   if you want to change the theme a bit? Maybe change a few colors, or a font or
   two. With a little bit of learning, small changes like that can be accomplished
   in a few minutes.
 * Personally, I would recommend learning the basics of HTML and CSS. There are
   several free tutorials on the web for this. (Like codeacademy.com, for example)
   Within a few hours of learning and tinkering, you will know the basics and be
   that much more prepared if/when you want to further customize your WordPress
   site. I said “if/when”, but it will probably be “when”. Tinkering with your own
   site can be kind of addictive, and fun. It’s how a lot of us first got into WordPress,
   then eventually used it professionally in our jobs 🙂
 * Take care!
