# WordPress Archiving in New WordPress install

 * Apparently, my wordpress database is so large and unwieldy that my ISP has indicate
   this is why my site keeps going down with a “Error establishing a database connection.”
   The queries are getting stuck because it can’t get through the size of the database
   quickly enough.
 * As such, and because I don’t want to lose all of my old posts, I need to find
   a way to either create a separate WP install that I can somehow move old posts
   into or find a plugin that creates/uses a separate mysql DB to shift posts to
   as a sort of “archive.”
 * Anyone know of anything that might meet my needs?

 * Hm, that doesn’t seem right. There are sites with millions of posts on WordPress(
   all of CNN and Time Magazine, for example).
 * There’s probably a rogue plugin with a query that gets stuck.
 * Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme
   to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
