 * I have installed wordpress and most things work except I can’t upload certain
   images.
I contacted my host easily.co.uk and they replied with the following!
 * We cannot get permissions amended on the current web servers as there is a script
that runs which will cause issues if tampered to get the permissions changed.
If you do a search for wordpress and suPHP (we run suPHP on our web servers),
this will give you some guides on how to get WordPress running on the system
without an issue as suPHP tricks the web application into thinking it runs at
   the required permissions level.
 * I work on mac and not a technical person so how do I get around this problem?
Am I supposed to install something else on wordpress? If anyone can help I would
   be most grateful.

 * I recommend finding a new webhost.
 * 1. There’s nothing additional needed to get WordPress running on a server that
uses suPHP. In fact, suPHP is recommended and if they really are using suPHP,
you wouldn’t have any permission issues when uploading images.
 * 2. His description of how suPHP works is way off. It doesn’t “trick” anything.
suPHP allows PHP processes to run under the owner of the file. Since the files
run under your user name, they don’t need any special permissions.
 * Honestly, there are many hosting providers out there, so don’t stay with the
one who can’t even describe the proper function of a basic PHP module.
