WordPress and subdirectories

Hi,

I currently have my blog in example.org/blog/ and that’s where WordPress is also installed. I’m planning to move the WP installation to the domain’s root directory but still maintain the blog in the “blog” subdirectory, AND make some additional subdirectories like “CV”, “portfolio” and stuff within the WP installation using my current blog’s appearance. Can it be done easily and without breaking anything?
