  • Hi guys,

This is a bit of a punt in the dark here but i’ve looked at some of the other options.

Currently I have a WordPress website running as a dev website (there is also a live version, but that is working).

for a few weeks now, the testing version of my website has been dying (database connection errors) so obviously i have been looking into the mysql usage. After digging a bit further I’ve noticed that on average there is anywhere between 370 and 400 SELECT queries running even though the website is only used by me and a couple of others.

Is that a normal amount of SELECT queries for a WordPress website that is running idle? Im starting to think a rogue plugin somewhere but for all i know it could be standard operations for wordpress perform those queries constantly.

If them numbers are higher than they should be, then what should i expect to be seeing as an average?

Hope someone can shed some light on this, thanks!!

Install the plugin “query monitor” and you can get an idea of which plugins are generating what queries.

Thank you sterndata. If i can get into the backend without it dying on me il give it a go and report back

    Thanks!!
