  • Hi
I’ve been going around in circles. Can anyone tell me the WordPress Admin URL so I can start adding content into WordPress please?
    Thanks

  • If you set up your site so that wordpress is in the ‘root’ or top level than take whatever your domain name is and add /wp-admin after it. So if my domain is mickeymouse.co.uk I would enter mickeymouse.co.uk/wp-admin This should bring up your wordpress installation.

If you installed wordpress into a sub directory, let us say it was in a directory called wordpress then you need to add /wordpress/wp-admin after your domain name.

Thanks for your answer. I’ve treid that, but it doesn’t seem to wor. I’m looking in DotNetPanel CPanel and the WordPress downloads are in Files > domain folder > wwwroot folder. Is this the correct place for them? do I need to do anything else to match up WordPress with my domain in the CPanel?
    thanks

    Error message??

Link to site so we can see?

WordPress downloads are in Files > domain folder > wwwroot folder

Do you have an htdocs folder below wwwroot?

FTP can load to a directory above the ‘root’ which is the highest directory for http connections, so sometimes loading files by ftp can put them in the wrong place. I am not sure what the folders will be named for your hosting company. You might have a control panel help section that tells you if you are in the right place.

I am having a similar problem. I set it up with the root, but when I got to my site, adding /wordpress/wp-admin after it, it says Whoops, page not found. When I just do the domain with wp-admin, it takes me back to mydomain.wordpress/wp-admin which is my wordpress account I am trying to transfer over to WordPress.org.

It would be really helpful if somewhere there was a specific step by step Installation Guide based on the hosting. I am using GoDaddy. I can’t find on either GoDaddy or WordPress. Each has “step by step” guides, but lack any detail.

I would check your database for the paths in wp_options.

I don’t know GoDaddy – so I am afraid I can’t do a step-by-step guide. If WP is in your htdocs dir (or whatever it might be called depending on the name the hosting company uses) which is the highest level for http access, and the DB is pointing to the same place, you should not have an error, if you do then give us the URL and we will try to help.
